Case Study
During Grammy Weekend, the biggest moment in music, UnitedMasters set out to create a flagship experience that honored the power of independence and the artists reshaping the industry on their own terms. For Hip-Hop's 50th anniversary, we developed A Celebration of Independence, an immersive live experience designed to spotlight independent music, cultural momentum, and the next generation of trailblazers pushing the culture forward.
As Head of Strategy and Creative Direction, I worked directly with UnitedMasters, Translation, and experiential production partner APT 122 to shape the concept, creative direction, and audience experience. The inaugural 2023 edition featured performances from Brent Faiyaz, Tobe Nwigwe, and Russ, drawing an influential audience across music, entertainment, and business.
Following its success, the event evolved into an annual Grammy Weekend flagship. The 2024 edition featured global talent including Davido, Tokischa, and Uncle Waffles. As the platform expanded, my role evolved into Executive Content Producer, leading content strategy focused on artist storytelling, key cultural moments, and integrated brand partnership visibility.
Subsequent editions continued to deliver standout moments, including performances from Armanii, BigXthaPlug, Clipse, and a surprise appearance by Pharrell Williams.
The series generated major cultural reach, industry credibility, national press coverage, and established itself as a defining celebration of independent music during Grammy Weekend.
